American Mechanical Braces for a Cold, Long Winter

American Mechanical Braces for a Cold, Long Winter

While most Americans cringe at the thought of colder, longer winter forecasts
and rising fuel costs, American Mechanical is geared up and stand ready
to serve you! And, according to ACCUWeather and the U. S. Energy Information
Administration the upcoming winter is set to be the longest, most expensive
winter the Hampton Roads area has experienced in some time. Natural gas
consumption is forecasted to increase 10 percent when compared to last
winter. The increase in consumption is based on a return to temperatures
that are closer to normal following last winter’s El Nino weather
pattern that resulted in winter temperatures that were 15 percent warmer
than the previous 10 year average. Households heating primarily with electricity
are forecast to spend an average of $49 (5 percent) more this winter,
as a result of 5 percent higher consumption, including both heating and
non-heating use of electricity, and about 1 percent higher residential
electricity prices than last winter.

Call American Mechanical today for a free furnace inspection and we will
tell you how you can save on energy costs this winter. Also ask about our
